Modern Warfare 4 beta date summary

The Modern Warfare 4 beta ran two windows, and both are complete. Weekend One was the Early Access Beta for eligible pre-orders on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC from August 21 to August 25. Weekend Two was the all-platform Open Beta from August 28 to September 1.

With the beta closed, the dates above matter for one live reason: unlocked Beta Rewards carry to the full game on your Activision account when MW4 launches on October 23. Preload timing and regional launch details remain unannounced; the official FAQ is still the final authority.

Weekend One began August 21 immediately after Call of Duty: NEXT and closed August 25 as the Early Access Beta for pre-orders on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC. Weekend Two ran August 28 through September 1 and opened the Beta to all players on all platforms, including Nintendo Switch 2. Both windows are complete; the record above stays so you can match the rewards you earned.

Your access paths for October

  1. 01Digital pre-order: campaign access on October 16. Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, Battle.net and Steam purchases are validated automatically for the one-week campaign early access; they do not need a code redemption.
  2. 02Retail order: keep the receipt or email. Beta-code redemption has closed with the beta. For how campaign early access applies to your retailer copy, check the editions guide and the official FAQ before launch week.
  3. 03Watch for preload news. Preload timing and regional availability are still unannounced. Do not assume a download window from an old post; this page updates when Activision posts one.

What we are waiting on

The beta questions are settled; the launch questions are not. Preload timing, regional availability and launch-window content details remain unannounced, and the official FAQ is the final timing authority.

Also still pending: the final PC minimum and recommended spec sheet and launch-week playlists. Those land closer to October 23, and this page updates when they do.
